2026 Monthly Field Engagement Reports

Field Engagement Report from May 2026:

In May 2026, 39 permit Condition Checks (PCCs) were completed across different regions of the country.

  • 35 EAHL permit holders
  • 2 EATA permit holder
  • 2 HSP permit holders

Broken down into states, these numbers are as follows:

  • Queensland (QLD): EAHL – 1
  • Western Australia (WA): EAHL – 4, EATA – 1, HSP – 1
  • Victoria (Vic): EAHL – 18, EATA – 1, HSP – 1
  • South Australia (SA): EAHL – 12

A strong number of outcomes were recorded during these PCCs. Of the 39 PCCs, only 4 of these required no further action.

For EAHL PCCs, outcomes discovered included.

  • Discharge reporting education,
  • Requested physical card,
  • Stickers requested,
  • Update details.

With 35 EAHL PCCs completed, 16 of these permit holders were identified as requiring updates to their contact details. This trend is consistent with previous months with a rise of eight from last month. In addition,20 further education outcomes were record with a following 20 Material provided outcomes, demonstrating that education remains a key and ongoing outcome of the Field Engagement Program.

Outcomes for EATA permits:

There were two outcomes for EATAs in the May 2026 with one being further education being provided and no action required.

Outcomes For HSP Permits:

There were two outcomes for HSPs in the May 2026 with both required no furhter  action.

Non-compliance

There were no instances of non-compliance discovered during May.

Discharge Reports Received

There five discharges reported received in May. The breakdown by industry sector and total volume discharged is as follows:

New Permit Holders for May 2026

There were eleven (11) new permit holders granted in May 2026, as follows:

  • EAHL Qualified – 6
  • EAHL Experienced – 1
  • Combined – 2
  • Trainee – 0
  • EATA – 0
  • HSP – 2

34 EAHL permits, 1 EATA and 2 HSPs were processed in total.

Six (6) permits had lapsed and have now been reactivated.  The breakdown of these is:

  • EATA – 1
  • EAHL Qualified – 0
  • EAHL Combined – 2
  • EAHL Experienced – 1
  • EAHL Trainee – 2

In April 2026, 38 permit Condition Checks (PCCs) were completed across different regions of the country.

  • 32 EAHL permit holders
  • 5 EATA permit holder
  • 1 HSP permit holders

Broken down into states, these numbers are as follows:

  • New South Wales (NSW):
    EAHL – 2
  • Queensland (QLD):
    EAHL – 2
  • Western Australia (WA):
    EAHL – 5
    EATA – 3
  • Victoria (Vic):
    EAHL – 16
    EATA – 2
    HSP – 1
  • Tasmania (Tas):
    EAHL – 7

A strong number of outcomes were recorded during these PCCs. Of the 38 PCCs, only 7 of these required no further action.

For EAHL PCCs, outcomes discovered included.

  • Discharge reporting education,
  • Information on obtaining additional entitlements,
  • Safe disposal education,
  • Stickers requested,
  • Update details.

With 32 EAHL PCCs completed, eight permit holders were identified as requiring updates to their contact details. This trend is consistent with previous months. In addition, 27 further education outcomes were recorded, demonstrating that education remains a key and ongoing outcome of the Field Engagement Program.

There were two outcomes for EATAs in the April 2026 with both being further education being provided.

Outcomes For HSP Permits:

There were two outcomes for HSPs in the April 2026 with both required further education being provided.

Non-compliance

There were two instances of non-compliance discovered during April. One was a Permit holder was working on Scheduled systems without the correct entitlements, the other being a HSP who had quarterly reported overdue.

Resolved Non-compliance

All non-compliance has been resolved, and all permit holders visited have now been deemed compliant.

Five (5) permits had lapsed and have now been reactivated.  The breakdown of these is:

  • EAHL Experienced – 0
  • EAHL Trainee – 0

Field Engagement Report from March 2026:

In March 2026, 45 permit Condition Checks (PCCs) were completed across different regions of the country.

  • 42 EAHL permit holders
  • 3 EATA permit holder
  • 0 HSP permit holders

Broken down into states, these numbers are as follows:

  • Queensland (QLD):
    • EAHL – 13
    • EATA – 1
  • Western Australia (WA):
    • EAHL – 16
  • Victoria (Vic):
  • EAHL – 13
  • EATA – 2

A strong number of outcomes were recorded during these PCCs. Of the 45 PCCs, only 13 of these required no further action 56 require further action.

For EAHL PCCs, outcomes discovered included.

  • Discharge reporting education
  • Information on obtaining additional entitlements
  • Safe disposal education
  • Stickers requested
  • Update details

Outcomes for EATA permits:

  • EATAs PCCs did not require any further action

Outcomes For HSP Permits:

  • No HSP PCCs were completed in March 2026

Non-compliance

There was one instance of non-compliance discovered during March 2026.  A Permit holder was working on Scheduled systems without the correct entitlements. This permit holder has been issued a 28-day notice period which started on the 27/3/26.

In February 2026, 26 permit Condition Checks (PCCs) were completed across different regions of the country.

  • 25 EAHL permit holders
  • 0 EATA permit holder
  • 1 HSP permit holders

Broken down into states, these numbers are as follows:

  • New South Wales (NSW):
    HSP – 1
  • Queensland (QLD):
    EAHL – 2
  • Western Australia (WA):
    EAHL – 7
  • Victoria (Vic):
    EAHL – 13
  • South Australia (SA)
    EAHL – 3

A strong number of outcomes were recorded during these PCCs. Of the 26 PCCs, only 5 of these required no further action. For EAHL PCCs, outcomes discovered included.

  • Discharge reporting education,
  • Information on obtaining additional entitlements,
  • Safe disposal education,
  • Stickers requested,
  • Update details.

With 25 EAHL PCCs completed, 10 permit holders were identified as requiring updates to their personal contact details. Through this process, the Field Engagement Team captured permit holders who had not notified the FPIB of changes to their phone numbers, workplaces or email addresses, ensuring renewal notices are received and processed correctly and reducing the risk of accidental expiry.

Outcomes for EATA permits:

No EATA permits were visited in February 2026.

Outcomes For HSP Permits:

Risk management plan required to be updated

Non-compliance

There were two instances of non-compliance discovered during February. One was a Permit holder was working on Scheduled systems without the correct entitlements, the other being a HSP holder who could not provide a risk management plan during the PCC.

Resolved Non-compliance

All non-compliance has been resolved, and all permit holders visited have now been deemed compliant.

  • EAHL Experienced – 0
  • EAHL Trainee – 0

Field Engagement Report from January 2026:

In January 2026, 31 Permit Condition Checks (PCCs) were completed across different regions of the country.

  • 29 EAHL permit holders
  • 1 EATA permit holder
  • 1 HSP permit holders

Broken down into states, these numbers are as follows:

  • New South Wales (NSW):
    • EAHL – 1
  • Victoria (VIC):
    • EAHL – 20
  • Western Australia (WA):
    • EAHL – 8
    • EATA – 1
    • HSP – 1

A strong number of outcomes were recorded during these PCCs. Of the 31 completed PCCs, only 3 of these required no further action. As a follow on from last month, “Material provided” was the most prolific outcome.

  • Requested physical card

Non-compliance

There were no instances of non-compliance discovered during PCCs in January.

Resolved Non-compliance

There were no open investigations into non-compliance arising from PCCs in the month of January.

There were 2 discharge reports processed in January. The breakdown by industry sector and total volume discharged is as follows:

New Permit Holders

There were 12 new permit holders granted in January 2026, as follows:
